I feel that way whenever I wake up and realize that I get to use my research training to fight cancer on a national level. My grandmother was a science teacher in the era of segregation. My mother also taught science in--ironically within the same building as my grandmother although now, it houses students of every creed and color.  And now I, with training from the best scientists in the world, get to talk about how COOL our bodies immune cells are and inspire people to do science all over the world.
